Pupil Premium and Sports Premium

Pupil Premium

The pupil premium is additional funding for publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and close the gap between them and their peers.

The school received the following funding for each child registered as eligible for free school meals at any point in the last 6 years: £1,515 for pupils in reception year to year 6.

Received from DFE January 2026

‘Congratulations to you and your team on the excellent outcomes the disadvantaged pupils at West Green Primary School achieved at the end of the 2024/25 academic year. Your school’s performance places it among the very best nationally, and this is a significant achievement.

This success reflects the dedication of your staff and the hard work of your pupils. It shows what can be achieved when ambition and commitment come together. Thank you for everything you do to give children the best possible opportunities to succeed.

Your school’s achievements demonstrate what is possible, and I hope you will continue to share your experience and best practice with others.’

Sports Premium

Schools receive PE and sport premium funding based on the number of pupils in years 1 to 6.

Schools must use the funding to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of PE and sport they offer.

This means that we should use the premium to:
  • develop or add to the PE and sport activities that the school already offers
  • make improvements now that will benefit pupils joining the school in future years.
The plan below outlines our use of the Sports Premium.
