History

Through the range of topics spanning Britain's past, as well as history of the wider world, we inspire pupils curiosity to want to find out more about the past. We do this by focusing on the key historical skills of:

  • exploring and understanding chronological order - not just within an era of history, but how it fits in with wider chronology.
  • historical interpretation - where pupils gather information from a range of artefacts, images and accounts, which are vital for them to examine and analyse to improve their enquiry skills.
  • explaining events in historical contexts - pupils need to be able to explain what has happened in the past. Using the information they have gathered, along with their own knowledge, pupils will be able to confidently talk and write about past events, as well as give their own opinion about them.
